The Irish government went insane and didn't consult any experts.? Ahh not quite. The crash in Ireland was caused by 30 year mortgages being called for full payment and the banks not having the reserves to pay off the debt in such a short term. The bailout was conducted here in a different manner to the US. The Govt ended up owning the banks and their assets as opposed to just dumping a load of money and no payoff.

As an irish person, I'm ashamed of? the behaviour of our government, and also very angry. But the thing is, no one else seems to be. I'm astonished. A recently organised protest in Dublin on the 16th of July just fizzled out. There was no one there! Not enough people in Ireland seem to understand that this was robbery and that we should AT LEAST have shown our anger about these crimes!
